In 2021-2023 with support from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), Building Changes designed and delivered a series of in-depth trainings for homeless student liaisons, school building staff, and community-based organizations in Washington State to help them better support students and families experiencing homelessness. Through our “Response to Student Homelessness” training series, we provided 28 trainings covering 7 topics to more than 600 participants across the state. Our partnership with OSPI enabled us to offer continuing education “clock hours” to eligible training participants.
Links to recordings are listed below. While this training series has come to a close, we are exploring ways we can continue to bring meaningful trainings to school districts, community partners, and coalitions working to support students and families experiencing homelessness. If you are interested in our training offerings, please contact Joey Heilman, Senior Education Strategy Specialist at Building Changes.
